Sally Hansen Nail Glam Party Pack

I stopped in Walgreens a few days ago and they had a bunch of stuff that was 50% off. As a lover of nail polish, I could not pass up on this party pack.

Included in the pack is 7 nail colors (5 quick chrome pens, 1 nail treatment, 2 beauty tools) the tools I received were a pair of nippers and a nail file. The pack also included a little card with a few ideas for hosting a nail party.

The chrome pens have a metallic finish and are not your average nail polish. Shaking them up for application is like shaking a can of spray paint which is what I was kind of nervous about. The consistency is thin but not watery. When you first activate the pens you have to be sure not to push the pen too many times or the polish will splatter. When applying the second coat you only need to push the pen one time or too much polish will be released to the brush.

The Quick Chrome Pens dry fast and are great to just throw in your bag for an on-the-go quick polish.

Swatched below: Pink Chrome, Gold Chrome, Turquoise Chrome, Green Chrome, Purple Chrome, French Manicure (although it's on a tip, it is in fact a very light peachy-pink) Maximum Growth Plus - Trust Mauve

I did not use the Seal & Shine topcoat on the nails because I put it on the Pink Chrome and it smeared the polish even after it was dry.

I hope you enjoyed!

Until next time

Spoiled by Wet n Wild

I stopped by CVS because I heard they were having their 50% and 75% sale on makeup and polishes. Revlon polishes for a little over $1.00, I certainly couldn't pass that up. While I did pick up 4 polishes, I didn't have a chance to check out everything because I stumbled across some new polishes by Wet n Wild called Spoiled. There were some amazing colors but because I went in with a plan and a budget, I had to exercise self control. Here are the two Spoiled polishes that I did pick.

Shuffle the Deck and Orange You Glad

I can never have too many orange polishes, because orange is one of my favorite colors to wear on my nails. This color actually reminds me one of my favorite Sinful colors polishes called Courtney orange.
can you tell it's one of my faves?
Although different colors, the other polish I chose is similar to one of my other favorite polishes which is also by Wet n Wild and it's called Party of Five Glitters (238C).

this is my 2nd bottle of Party of Five Glitters
I absolutely love Wet n Wild products and I love the new brush on the Spoiled polishes.

The Spoiled by Wet n Wild polishes are exclusive to CVS, but if you'd like to see some pics of the colors check the blog posts here and here.

Until next time

NYC New York Color

New York Color
NYC's Liquid Lip Shine is described as having "pure pigments that created a 3-D gloss effect. Vitamin E provides shine and a moisturizing feel. The formula is non-sticky, super shiny & soft."

I received LIquid lipshine free from Influenster. If you are not familiar with Influenster, check out my previous blog post here

I received the Liquid lip shine in #582, Nude York City which is exactly as the name states, a nude color with a hint of shimmer and a lot of shine. A little of this product goes along way.
NYC products are know for their affordable prices and sometimes get looked over because some people tend to look at lower priced products as being inferior to products that are considered "high end." So when I received this in my Voxbox, I was pretty excited to give this particular product a try. What did I think of the Liquid lip shine?.

The Verdict
  • light, sweet scent
  • great shine
  • pigmented (great alone or over your favorite lipstick)
  • price
  • variety of shades (10 on-trend shades from neutral nudes to berries and fuchsias
  • flexible applicator
  • moisturizing
  • long-lasting
  • if you put too much it begins to feel sticky
Do I recommend?
Absolutely. Not only is it affordable (retail price $2.49) it is a quality product. If you're looking for reasonably priced, quality lipshines, then NYC's liquid lip shine is just for you. Visit to find a retailer near you. Happy shopping!

Until next time,

A Christina

Disclosure: I received the NYC Liquid Lip Shine free of charge from Influenster. This in no way affects or determines my evaluation of the products received.

imPress Press-On Manicure

I received these nails in my Voxbox from Influenster in order to test and provide a review on. If you're not familiar with Influenster check out my post here.

I was excited because I love  having my nails done and I love switching up my designs but sometimes I just don't have the time.

I absolutely love the designs on the nails and believe that they are a great idea. However, I was not able to try them out because they did not fit on my nails.

Originally, I thought I could file my nails down and they would fit but i was not willing to file my nails down as low as I would have had to.  That kind of defeats the purpose of  a quick 5-minute manicure, besides if they only last a week I'd rather keep the decent length of my own nails

The Verdict

  • No drying time
  • They come in a wide variety of colors and prints (36 colors and patterns including trendy brights, classic darks and animal prints)
  • Can be mixed and matched ( from funky prints to subtle plain colors, check out the pic above for the look Nicole Scherzinger is wearing)
  • Easily removable (do not need to use damaging acetone)
  • Packaging great for storing leftover nails (and too cute)
  • Can easily change your nails to fit your style, mood or occasion
  • the fit

Do I recommend?

Although they did not work for me I think they are truly a great idea for a quick, easy, no fuss manicure. I love the fact that imPRESS manicures are available in 36 colors and patterns  including trendy brights, classic darks and yes beautiful animal prints. They retail for $5.99 for colors and $7.99 for patterns which is money saved on gas and the expensive prices at a nail salon. To get a $1.00 off coupon, try the app that allows you to "try on" the imPress Press-on manicure, and get a full list of  online and in-store retailers visit  These are something that I would definitely purchase!

Has anyone tried the imPRESS press-on manicure? What has been your experience?

Until next time

2011 Holiday VoxBox

Here's a quick overview of what VoxBox is: it is a free service from Influenster. Influenster gives  individuals the opportunity to review goodies and share the results with the world. VoxBoxes of products are rewarded for being influential.  With that being said, let me introduce to you the things that I received in my first VoxBox.

Surprisingly, most of the products were full sizes. Included in the box is a card that lists the products and gives a brief description of each product.

Here is a quick look at what was included in my box:

2 full-sized bars of Softsoap's coconut scrub (review to follow)

1 full sized bottle of Mentos Pure Fresh chewing gum in Fresh Mint (initially VERY strong and refreshing, however flavor doesn't last too long - review to follow)

1 full tube of N.Y.C New York Color Liquid Lip Shine in the color Nude York City (review up in a few days)

1 sample sized "Larabar" in Apple Pie as well as a $1.00 off a future purchase of two Larabar or Jocalat bars (the thought of apple pie is a turn off for me, however this bar was really good, would definitely repurchase)

1 trial size Crushed Raspberry Fruit Smoothie mask from Montange Jeunnesse (review to follow)

1 full sized Broadway Nails imPRESSPress-On manicure in TGIF, as well as a coupon for $1.00 off on a future purchase of the imPRESS Press-on  Manicure (review to follow)

Overall I am very pleased with my VoxBox and with Influenster. Some of these products I never would have tried had I not received them. Thank you Influenster.

So head on over to and check the site out for yourselves.
