Sally Hansen Nail Glam Party Pack

I stopped in Walgreens a few days ago and they had a bunch of stuff that was 50% off. As a lover of nail polish, I could not pass up on this party pack.

Included in the pack is 7 nail colors (5 quick chrome pens, 1 nail treatment, 2 beauty tools) the tools I received were a pair of nippers and a nail file. The pack also included a little card with a few ideas for hosting a nail party.

The chrome pens have a metallic finish and are not your average nail polish. Shaking them up for application is like shaking a can of spray paint which is what I was kind of nervous about. The consistency is thin but not watery. When you first activate the pens you have to be sure not to push the pen too many times or the polish will splatter. When applying the second coat you only need to push the pen one time or too much polish will be released to the brush.

The Quick Chrome Pens dry fast and are great to just throw in your bag for an on-the-go quick polish.

Swatched below: Pink Chrome, Gold Chrome, Turquoise Chrome, Green Chrome, Purple Chrome, French Manicure (although it's on a tip, it is in fact a very light peachy-pink) Maximum Growth Plus - Trust Mauve

I did not use the Seal & Shine topcoat on the nails because I put it on the Pink Chrome and it smeared the polish even after it was dry.

I hope you enjoyed!

Until next time

NYC New York Color

New York Color
NYC's Liquid Lip Shine is described as having "pure pigments that created a 3-D gloss effect. Vitamin E provides shine and a moisturizing feel. The formula is non-sticky, super shiny & soft."

I received LIquid lipshine free from Influenster. If you are not familiar with Influenster, check out my previous blog post here

I received the Liquid lip shine in #582, Nude York City which is exactly as the name states, a nude color with a hint of shimmer and a lot of shine. A little of this product goes along way.
NYC products are know for their affordable prices and sometimes get looked over because some people tend to look at lower priced products as being inferior to products that are considered "high end." So when I received this in my Voxbox, I was pretty excited to give this particular product a try. What did I think of the Liquid lip shine?.

The Verdict
Pros:
  • light, sweet scent
  • great shine
  • pigmented (great alone or over your favorite lipstick)
  • price
  • variety of shades (10 on-trend shades from neutral nudes to berries and fuchsias
  • flexible applicator
  • moisturizing
  • long-lasting
Cons:
  • if you put too much it begins to feel sticky
Do I recommend?
Absolutely. Not only is it affordable (retail price $2.49) it is a quality product. If you're looking for reasonably priced, quality lipshines, then NYC's liquid lip shine is just for you. Visit www.newyorkcolor.com to find a retailer near you. Happy shopping!

Until next time,

Disclosure: I received the NYC Liquid Lip Shine free of charge from Influenster. This in no way affects or determines my evaluation of the products received.

imPress Press-On Manicure

I received these nails in my Voxbox from Influenster in order to test and provide a review on. If you're not familiar with Influenster check out my post here.

I was excited because I love  having my nails done and I love switching up my designs but sometimes I just don't have the time.

I absolutely love the designs on the nails and believe that they are a great idea. However, I was not able to try them out because they did not fit on my nails.

Originally, I thought I could file my nails down and they would fit but i was not willing to file my nails down as low as I would have had to.  That kind of defeats the purpose of  a quick 5-minute manicure, besides if they only last a week I'd rather keep the decent length of my own nails

The Verdict

Pros:

  • No drying time
  • They come in a wide variety of colors and prints (36 colors and patterns including trendy brights, classic darks and animal prints)
  • Can be mixed and matched ( from funky prints to subtle plain colors, check out the pic above for the look Nicole Scherzinger is wearing)
  • Easily removable (do not need to use damaging acetone)
  • Packaging great for storing leftover nails (and too cute)
  • Can easily change your nails to fit your style, mood or occasion
Cons:
  • the fit

Do I recommend?

Although they did not work for me I think they are truly a great idea for a quick, easy, no fuss manicure. I love the fact that imPRESS manicures are available in 36 colors and patterns  including trendy brights, classic darks and yes beautiful animal prints. They retail for $5.99 for colors and $7.99 for patterns which is money saved on gas and the expensive prices at a nail salon. To get a $1.00 off coupon, try the app that allows you to "try on" the imPress Press-on manicure, and get a full list of  online and in-store retailers visit www.impressmanicure.com.  These are something that I would definitely purchase!

Has anyone tried the imPRESS press-on manicure? What has been your experience?

Until next time
